Founded in 2019 by the visionary young  entrepreneur Mr. Terefe T. Godi, also known as Mr. Kanance, our company is dedicated to connecting the rich agricultural heritage of Ethiopia with the global market. The name “Kanance,” meaning “God Son” in the Bench language, reflects our commitment to uplifting our community and fostering sustainable practices.

 

Mr. Terefe was born and raised in a smallholder farming family in the Bench Sheko Zone of Southwest Ethiopia. After completing his university education in 2014, he joined a smallholder farmers’ cooperative union as an export manager. This role allowed him to travel extensively, learning about marketing Ethiopian coffee, spices, and other agricultural products. He discovered two important truths: our local farmers produce an abundance of high-quality goods, and there exists a strong international demand for these exceptional products.

 

Motivated by the potential to bridge the gap between farmers and global markets, Mr. Terefe established Kanance Coffee and Spice. Our mission is to play a vital role in marketing and shipping for farmers, ensuring they receive fair prices while delivering quality products to buyers worldwide.

 

Today, we proudly collaborate with over 4,000 smallholder farmers, specializing in coffee, spices, hiney, fruits and Grains. At Kanance, we are committed to quality, sustainability, and timely delivery, creating a win-win situation for our farmers and our valued customers.
